Fast track

Manolin's case worker called to tell me that his case being fast-tracked for termination of parental rights.

He "should be" (this is the state, remember) legally free in six months or so.

  1. That's awesome. And amazing if it goes that quickly! I guess God can even over-ride the State.
    Enjoy - enjoy-enjoy!

  3. ...I must be a child of the digital age because "fast track" does not mean six months to me [laughing].

Of course, this whole adoption thing is teaching me that perhaps the best things in life are worth waiting months and months for.

That sounds like great news, though!

  6. When you have the mental energy to blog again, I would love to hear more about your bonding process with Manolin. When receiving such an unexpected call and you suddenly find yourself with a new little person to love, how did that love take shape?

We got a similar call, only we expected reunification...now it's not so certain. It has taken a couple of months, but I think my heart is finally taking over. Up till now, I've felt more like I was babysitting. In court yesterday, I began to see the whole situation a little more clearly and I realized how much I care about this little one's future.

Thanks for sharing your life. I am encouraged by your stories of foster parenting!

I enjoy spirited debates just as much as pats on the back. Feel free to grab your soapbox and let 'er loose ... realizing, of course, that I am in charge of the all-powerful DELETE button. :-)
