Sticker shock

Jo is toying with the notion of colleges as of late (thank you, Cousin Malcolm). Her repertoire is limited, of course, by the names she's heard here in our home--primarily the large, state university where her father and I got our undergraduate degrees, the smaller, state university where her father received his master's, and the tiny community college where I've done online classes. Oh, and the smattering of, "wish I'd gone there," schools.

Her top choice? A "wish I'd gone there," of course. Biola University.

Do you have any idea how much that school costs?

Somebody pour cold water on my head.

College is NOT something we encourage. Not just for cost reasons either:

She's young. You've got plenty of time to get her over the notion! ;-)

WOO-HOO Go Eagles! That's my alma mater, and I wasn't rich. They had a wonderful thing called an "Honor Scholarship". :) It was a wonderful, life-changing 4 years.

Yep: It's expensive.

Thankfully, by God's grace in some incredible scholarships and other provisions, both my wife and I graduated with only $500 in student loans between us.

May God bless you equally as much in whatever "high education" path he takes Jo down.

sticker price doesn't mean much. If anything it is "how much we think we can get someone to pay." Most college routinely discount the cost considerably.

You must be insane. Why would you put a child of the MOST HIGH GOD into a den of sin and adultery.

Okay my 2 cents.. College is the new high school diploma. Not worth much but necessary for good job placement. I do see higher education changing in the next 5-10 years. People cant afford it and those who do aren't guaranteed jobs or arent paid enough to pay off the college they went to. *perhaps that was four or five cents*
